Got an analogue clock. If I press the button, the clock jumps forward by 1
minute. How do I make it go backwards? Please tell me I don't have to
wind the clock forwards 11 hours.

OK ... <cough> "You don't have to wind the clock forwards 11 hours."

    But you do ...

Well, when we had a Peugeot (405) we had to, so I don't see why you
should be any different. French innit ... ;)

Either I've missed something obvious, or you're going senile: why wait?

Because he's thinking of a digital clock, which will reset itself to 12:00
    if the power is disconnected.

YMMV. Our old 205 resets to 01:00 .

    Must depend on the Pug.

My 307 has options to step through, so I can select hour/min etc. Then
    just trip that one over

I'll forget, then I'll jump in it in the morning and wonder why it won't
    start.

On an analogue clock? How do you know what hand is selected? Does it
    wiggle at you?

Just ignore all those muppets with their silly ideas. All you need to
do is drive it in reverse for an hour.

    On a bog-standard 12V analogue clock in a car? I imagine it'll just
    start from where it stopped.

I got fined the last time I did that. "Unnecessary reversing" was the
    charge.

  17. If I had that on a charge sheet, I think I'd frame it.

    15 metres is the limit.

The taxi drivers in Barnstaple used to get nicked for it, reg'lar.
Plod would hang out on the street they used to shortcut their way in
and have 'em as they moseyed backwards down the road. Negotiations
were undertaken as to what a "separate manoeuvre" would entail.

On a busy night, you could watch a line of nose-to-tail taxis going
backwards for ~15m, then forward for ~2m, then backing up again for
another ~15m. Like synchronised swimming or inline dancing ;-)
