It seems our paths crossed at Llanwrtyd Wells today - saw a bunch of MVs
come through the village when we parked up for a cuppa at about 4.30.

We did the Devil's Staircase, and also a detour to Llandewi Brefi for a
quick photo opportunity, before coming back via the B4519.

Awesome day of riding. All I need now is a Transalp or Africa Twin as an
alternative to the VFR for days like today.

And all I need is a new belly pan. Thats what the scraping noise was.

Too big and lardy for my liking, and too road-biased, IMHO.

Aye, that was us. We started out with 10 MVs, a Duke, a Laverda & a
Bimota. 4 of the MVs & the Bimota just came for breakfast, leaving the
rest of us to head for Welsh Wales. We left the Laverda behind in
Abergavenny after it started misfiring badly, a few people left the
contents of their wallets behind care of Her Maj's revenue collection
service (plates & visors), & 1 MV left some of it's paintwork behind
    care of a ditch.

Apart from that it was an awesome day. 300 miles of twisties with hardly
a straight to be seen. The GPS says 8 hours on the move, 11 hours in
total, & the maximum speed reached was 147.4 mph (allegedly).

So that makes a total of 590 MV miles for me this weekend, & my ass &
wrists don't even hurt; most peculiar!
Any reason why the 650 V-Strom doesn't appear in that list? Not that
I've ever ridden one, or know anything about it whatsoever.

I saw the MVs and a Duke pass us.

Where was the police trap? - not on the A465 Hereford road just after
the Abergavenny roundabout by any chance, was it? - that's where they're
usually dipping tanks for red derv.
    Nice.

We did Ystrad Mynach - Llandovery - Lampeter - Aberaeron - Tregaron -
Llandewi Brefi (didn't see the only gay in the village, though), then
back over the Abergwesyn pass to thingie-Wells before taking the B4519
over the MOD firing range to Brecon where we split up to make our way
    back home.
That'll be the combination of speed and twisty bits.
    That's because you can't get a 650 V-Strom for £1k - £2k...... whereas I
could pick from the following in that price range:

    Super Tenere
    Transalp
    Africa Twin
    R100GS
    F650
    that Aprilia F650-alike thingie

and numerous other early 90s big traillie type things.

No it was on the A40 between Brecon & Llandovery. I was intending to
take them on the A4067/8/9 loop, but we were running short of time. I
managed to avoid getting tugged by using my patented technique of hiding
behind another vehicle, then overtaking it at around 65mph as I
approached the lay-by-o'plod. The rest of the group bar 2 weren't so
    lucky though.

I did get a tug yesterday for doing 77 in a 60, but he let me off as I
"wasn't taking the piss by fitting a small plate & illegal cans". He was
right about the plate, but I can only assume his hearing was a tad under
par if he thought the exhaust wasn't illegally loud. Not that I'm
    complaining mind :)
Some of my favourite roads on the Tiger. I think something like a SM'd
520 KTM EXC would totally rock around the Cambrian passes.
Oh the Pegaso - I'm rather fond of those. I guess you could add several
of the Cagivas to that list too - Elefant, Gran Canyon & Navigator.

Ahh, yes. That would explain the 'Police Slow' signs we saw. Although
they'd gone by the time we got there.
