    Back in the day, most people I knew swore by Hyperformance, who seem
    to have a web site at http://www.youngerdriver.com/

    Probably worth a look.

    Caz's was the hot hatch version. This was 4/5 years ago and insurance
    premiums were sky high for her. She wrote that one off and her insurance
    went sky high afterwards.

    At 18 I had a Mk1 Mini Cooper 1071S that I baulked at paying 90 quid a
    year to insure. The Viva HB that preceded it had cost me 65 quid a year,
    the Morris Minor Traveller before that was a fiver less.

    Rope says...
    I had similar happen. One of my neighbours offered me his E-type 3.8 FHC
    for 350 quid. I couldn't afford the 250 quid to insure it. I bought the
    HB Viva instead.

    Yeah, I heard that too, but having tried a few it seems to load the price up
    by about a third.

    Indeed it is. Luckily my insurance doesn't expire until May, so i've added
    the car and the boy to my policy until then.

    Tonight marked another milestone too, I've just been out for a drive with
    him (seems only yesterday he being born).
