The coverage on Eurosport was noticeably quiet in terms of noise from the
crowd. Did people forget their air-horns, or was the director clued up
enough to turn down the microphones?

I suspect the latter, as you couldn't hear the bikes either. I think
that made it the blandest coverage of a race I've ever seen on TV.

99% of people were by about 10% of the total track length so there'd only
have been crowd noise from Luffield to corner 1 (I forget it's name)
    anyway.....

And even then, there was, thankfully, a lot less air-horn blaring than usual
due to the vendors running out early Saturday....

And there'd be less crowd noise anyway as the place is so soul-suckingly
dreary and they treat you with such contempt that, after 3 days there, most
of us had almost lost the will to live, let alone pretend we were enjoying
    being there.

Well it didn't help that the coverage just stuck with Haga and Vermuellen,
for both races... it was a fine dice and all that, but there must have
been action elsewhere. It was, as you say, very dull.

I live just down the road, and would only ever go there again as a
spectator, if given a freeby full-on hospitality package.
