You seem to have left off the side straps that clip onto the bottom edge of
the tank. Is it secure enough without them?

<fx: wanders off to find Givi catalogue>

I did see a 9R with a top box recently. A most peculiar sight.

I got it nice and cheap off ebay. However, cheap it maybe but it
doesn't fit properly as the two side straps with hooks have nothing to
hook onto as the base of the tank is covered by trim. Pisses me off
when manufacturers do this as they *obviously* know this problem
exists and just choose to ignore it.

No idea as I've only just stuck it on. See above reply to Loz.

Fear not for it won't be on there permanently, only when the tank
    bag's needed.

A baglux! You tasteless bastard. You haven't got a DB9 with a vinyl
    roof as well have you?

Take the plastic trim off (only held on by a screw by seat and bit of
velcro) fit harness, refit placcie trim, ride round with brown paper
bag on head so as not to shame the family.

The trim kKeeps the hooks in place nicely. They always used to come
    loose on the 9R.

Weird. I started prying it off gently and it looked like adhesive
coming away on the other side so I left well alone. If that's the
    case I'll have another bash.

Theres also a metal tab / clip on the tank at the front. Take out
screw by seat, pull trim gently to release (bloody strong) velcro then
pull whole of trim backwards towards tail unit.

Refitting is the revese of dismantling.

Just been down and sorted it, ta.

When I start removing things and plastic starts bending my normal
reaction is to leave it the **** alone.

Unfortunately I've just clocked the price of the bags for these
covers; £80 even on ebay! I'll try and get hold of one second hand
off there over the next few months.

I think that a majority of the gixxer thou owners on here have baglux
    tank covers...
