The big hole isn't the problem, it's getting the corroded in exhaust
bolts out without snapping them all off. The exhaust has to come off so
I can remove the sump to get the broken bits of engine end casing and
any road shite out. It's starting to look like the cylinder head may be
making a guest appearance on my workbench for a little broken bolt
    removal treatment.

Apart from that, everything else is hunky-dory. We have the ways and
means to repair the big 'ole, which has turned out to be alot less
bother than first thought. There isn't a hole as such, the bottom part
of the crankcase has been pushed up and cracked, but all the bits are
there and still firmly attached. The big 'ole is in the bolted on end
casing, which is about 20 quid from a breakers. I have a method of
refitting a new oil pressure switch back into it's rightful place too.

The new RD350LC pattern headlight, new brake lever and fork seals have
been fitted already, so not alot of work and a fucking good clean to be
done now before an MOT and dispatch to it's new owner. Today's job is
repairing the broken tacho mounting with some clever plastic welding.
Tomorrow it's repair the crankcase time.

    RD350LC?

I do remember the clocks were a little wobbly after the crash. I bashed
the tacho before and fixed it up good with a spot of superglue.

Honestly, good luck man, it was a fucking good bike.

Come April I might be in the market for a liddle 400 or even a 250 to
get me back to work on if you'll know of anything by then. Despatching
on a CBR thou is not what God intended.

I did mention to sweller that this sort of Eastbourne-Sutton MZ run was
becoming a sort of shuttle service.

Nice beam, big lens and dirt cheap as a pattern part. Doesn't look at
all out of place on a Bandit either.
The plastic bracket behind was snapped off, I plastic welded it about
half an hour ago and it's back on the bike looking like new again.
    It will be again
If I hear of anything I'll let you know.

Ah yeah, it never had the original brackets on it. It used to be a SW
but the previous owner put those twin jobs on.

I sussed it used to be a faired one because there's no mention of 600N
on the tailpiece, they only put the graphics it has on the S model with
the 600 sticker on the fairing. Also, the front wiring is slightly
    different.

AFAICT, there wasn't much wiring there at all, just two sleeved jobbies
going up to the instrument cluster IIRC.

I changed a few bulbs too and there weren't any extra wires in the
    reflector bits either.

BTW, don't worry about the alarm, that never worked...
