Didn't you mention some perverted yearning for a CBX750 Bol d'Or?

The bloke who just MOTd my BMW has one for sale[1] and it appears to be
in very good nick - paintwork around the rear light is slightly faded
but other than that it looks very, very good. And it doesn't appear to
    be too expensive.

[1] He's got more CBX750s than zymurgy has Superdreams. Worrying, that.

IIRC he's got five of them. Stills seems like a sound bloke (well, he
    *did* MOT my bike...).

Yes, I do have a perverted thing for them.

The redundancy situation means I can't just now, but by the end of next
week, I may be in a position to do something [1].

    How much, anyway?

[1] Had a promising interview yesterday, but don't want to get too
confident - getting a job from your first interview would be very lucky
    indeed.

OK. I doubt it's going anywhere quickly anyway.
It's got a sticker on saying 995 and despite it being a CBX750 it looks
like it's worth it. It is *very* clean. No idea of the mileage, though.

It's at Tagg Racing down here near Ashford if you want to give the bloke
    a call.
    Good luck with that.

Well a grand isn't too much to throw away on something you really want even
if it does blow up inside a year

It doesn't look like it would, given the mileage SteveH tends to do on
bikes. Mind ewe, I haven't heard it running but that can be arranged.

The problem with them is the alternator drive chain - they get rattly
with age and mileage and you need to split the cases to replace them.

If everything works out, I may have to ask you to go and check it out
for me - and get some pics.

In terms of mileage, one of the reasons I want one is to up my mileage -
they're a very comfy bike for doing French Runs etc on.

NP, I can do that - it's only 15 minutes from here anyway. I'm away next
week but anytime after that should be doable.
It does look quite comfy, yep.

No, I was thinking about buying one, but work stuff kind of screwed that
    idea.

The 750SS isn't ideal for anything other than sunny afternoon blats,
    2-up.

  12. Whaa-aat?

Oh, you mean, two-up, that's all it's good for?

    Wouldn't disagree. It's a low-powered bike and the weight of a pillion
slices the entire top end off the performance. Solo, of course, it's
    brilliant.

Tell Katie to go on a diet.

  13. I've ridden one - they're truly excellent efficient bikes, as only a
Honda can be. By Christ, they're soulless, though.

The seat is hugely comfortable, but the weight on my wrists can be a
    problem. But.... see below.
    Pretty much, yes.
If she loses any more weight, she'll have to have clothes tailor made.

She's always been quite slim, but has lost over a stone (might even be
over 1.5 stone) since you last saw her.

Regional training manager role with one of the big 4.... which is why
    I'm not overly confident.

Got them for my 9R, very very well made and work extremely well.
So Katie loosing weight makes you wrists ache less? Hang on, we are
talking about riding a bike here yes?
