Paging suit wearers

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Doki, Jan 16, 2008.

  1. I hope so. Anyone knows the proper colour of socks to wear is black.
Unless you have blue shoes of course - but no-one of quality wears blue
shoes (hides shoes I got married in - dark blue Italian shoes that I
still have in a cupboard somewhere).

Of course dark navy is considerably better than (say) purple. And those
who wear white socks with anything other than trainers are utterly
without sartorial breeding of any kind.
    Well quite.

I remember at some questionable point in the 90's I owned a bottle green
double breasted suit, awful thing it was, made me look like a fucking
leprechaun. Christ knows why I bought it.

Traditional colours and single breasted for me these days.

true. and it wasn't a practical objection, so we can scratch that one.
i have a mountain jacket that cost around gpb110 which i purchased in
1998 and is still fine. i probably wear it a lot more often than you
    wear that suit, too.

15-20? Crikey. I've got one, which also fits the ignition.

Well, quite. A wallet is for cards and notes, whereas a purse is for
    women.

Single breasted overlap just enough to do the button and have one row
    of buttons.

Double breasted overlap loads and can have two rows of buttons.

ITYM a Disturbing Gentlemen of dubious nature.

Shooting jackets should be tweed with plentiful pockets to store things
that you can throw at the beaters. Unless there's a pesky storm blowing
it about a bit, then a waxed barber jacket is required.

White socks are for school children, to rebel against the establishment.
    And for cunts.

    etc etc.

  14. My Genesis tour t-shirt from 1977 is still going strong[1]. And that cost
    me less than a tenner.

    Phil.

[1] Apart from lacking arms - I took them off in the 80's when it was
    cool to have armless t-shirts.

Keys go on a key-ring, or possibly on the lanyard with my ID card for work.

As for RFID tags, why would you need to carry one around all the time
    anyway?

    I've got a tolerably presentable double-breasted thing that I bought in 1990
for my mother's funeral. And I can still get into it.

  19. This is a small (tapesafe) key of which I carry a copy. I don't want it
on my house or car keyrings (the house one has too many keys on it
    anyway).
It's a programming tag so I can do awful[1] things to a particular
variety of RFID readers. I use it several times a month and it's easier
to carry it on me than put it in the safe and have someone else forget
    to put it back..

    Phil

[1] Adjust the sector it reads and the security it uses. Only really
usable on the sort of readers we sell.
