    Guess what arrived here today.

Box torn at the front, address no longer visible.

Return adress OK and YICS bar all present and correct. I'm going to hazard a
    guess you never got it.

I must admit to thinking 'miserable git' and ' He has had it two months,
surely he has managed to dupe it by now'

Looks like you never got it.

Funny that, remember me mentioning i had bought one from Germany but it
hadn't arrived, only turned up eight weeks later didn't it !. XJ now running
    sweet as a nut.

Reckon i still owe you some beer tokens though.

Dave Eades let forth with a mighty belch and uttered :
Yamaha came up with YICS because they were short of acronyms for their
    middleweight fours.

The YICS bar blocks the drillings between the carbs so each cylinder is only
drawing on its own carb. Very useful for balancing the carbs, but not
vital. Any bit of bar of a suitable diameter, sealed at one side with
plasticene will approximate its functionality sufficiently well.

Only used when balancing the carbs. If you balance your carbs, yes, if not,
no, it is of no use.

Out of interest, do the current XJs use YICS or has it been consigned to the
'we thought it was a good idea at the time' bin?
