GBBF, Earls Court, Thursday.
Was there last night with a generous number of my fellow colleagues. It seems there were a lot of rest days today!
I rounded off the evening with a Rochefort 10 and an Orval. WFH tomorrow, natch, after which I'll be back there to join CT in the inevitable ten pints of Tribute and a few pickled eggs.
Actually, I might even give Tribute a miss as I drink enough if it at home throughout the year. I will mainly be drinking ales that I've never tried before, or that I've forgotten that I've tried, which shouldn't narrow the field too much. Now that I've moved further out than the Boondocks, to Suburb of Boondocks, I won't be there much before 7.30 but you might bump into the usual lot if you're there earlier.
<goes to look at list> I'd recommend you get yourself to B1 and B2 to try both the Blue Monkey offerings, they're a new brewery from round this neck of the woods and make absolutely splendid beer.
<ditto> Shame they don't have Dark Island from Orkney way I think. One of the best ales I've ever had.
It is nice but I haven't seen it on draught anywhere further south than the Grog & Gruel in Fort William.
*ding* I ended up drinking them out of it whilst there earlier in the year. Not that I had that many, but it was disappointing.
AOL. I'd drink Winter Ale-style beers all year round, given the chance. Dark, smooth, rich and fruity, that'll do nishely. There's very few blonde beers I'd take in preference to a darker brew, but perhaps that's just because I'm getting old.
Quite so. I got to like Leffe after trying it coz it was mentioned on here a zillion times, but I've always drunk and preferred dark beers since I was supping Mild in the local back when I were a lad. Never got into the whole lager thing.
I knew a bird from London once: Stella Carlsberg-Foster was her name. She gave me a bad head - or she gave really bad head, one or the other, I can't remember that clearly.
