How good/bad is the bike parking there at the moment? Is turning up a
9am too late for getting a PAYG spot?

I don't quite fancy turning up at sparrowfart o'clock but if that turns
    out to be necessary...

I haven't worked there for 3 years or so but at that point if you weren't
parked by 8.00 you were royally shagged. I can't imagine it has got any
better in the time since then.

In the proper pay carparks or out in the "free" area down near the odd
    traffic lights?

If I paid I had to walk further. If I went in the freebie I just walked
round the corner. I mostly started about 7.00 to catch the end of the
Asian markets meetings. Then scratched my nuts in the morning waiting for
the lunchtime flurry which was breakfast in N.Y.

    But seriously. Paying?

The free one was always good for a laugh anyway as all the freshly
licensed city boys (graduate recruits) would do quite a bit of comedy low
speed manoeuvring[1] whilst wrigling their way through the mass of parked
    machinery.

[1] Well more a lack thereof.

Well, I have read[1] that they closed that area a little while after
they turned it into a bike park.
I've occasionally used that back when I was working for BarCap but
given that the current client is sitting pretty much on top of the East
carpark, it would be rude not to.

[1] On the Internet, so it must be true.
