How sad it is that any jibe aimed at me now, gets a 'snort' or some other
congratulatory 'slap on the back', even when it's as funny as a funeral.

Look at yourselves, UKRM, and what you've become. :(

I don't but there were a number of people interviewed by the TV news
saying that they would be avoiding London etc etc as a result. So
there is clearly some fear being generated.

Interesting that Brown was blaming this on Al'Queda, yet not that long ago,
the latter was being painted as a 'sophisticated terrorist' organisation.

This lot couldn't blow up a fucking balloon.

Just as well. The Bakerloo line was shafted this morning and it's always
a bit crowded during tourist season. If someone could only sort out a
quick terror scare for the 7.50 from Maidenhead to London Paddington,
    I'd be in clover.

The interesting thing is that hours after feeling the collars of the first
two scrotes in the car at Glasgow, they're kicking down doors across the
country, and nicking folk on the M6. So how did they get the names? Did
the blokes from the Glasgow thing cough up, or were the others under
surveillance anyway? If it's the latter, how come MI5 didn't see this
    coming?

What people say for the cameras, and what they actually do, are two
    different things, I think.

I did snort in derision at the alleged quotes from the car clamping
crew, who towed away the second unexploded Merc...

"I have been unable to sleep.... I'm traumatised...."

Whenever I hear "I'm traumatised" now, I tend to add, in my own mind:
"But I'm sure I could overcome it for a few thousand quid...."

I confess to a certain degree of satisfaction that the fuckwits were
anticipating paradise and '72 virgins', and instead, they're going to have
a cell in Peterhead for the next 45 years.

I couldn't remember the name of the gaol in Aberdeen for my follow-up to
Charlie of a few minutes ago, so checked the Scottish Prison Service's
website [1]. What a surprise, they have an Arabic-language version of part
of it. One can only assume that they're still working on the Chinese [2]
    versions..

Didn't one of the IRA blow himself up on a bus in the Strand in the mid
    1990s?

I'd never laugh at that, oh no.

Sure. But while there's clearly not widespread panic, there is a
degree of fear, trepidation, concern, call it what you will. So there
    is some "fear".

    Indeed.

Dislocation? Yes. Fear? No way. Do you know *anyone*, apart from the
normally paranoid, who is actually frightened? Because I don't.[/QUOTE]

My daughter was ranting about the delays at Inverness airport when she
flew back south yesterday afternoon, I think she said she waited
almost 3 hours for her flight but being sleazyjet that was probably a
knock on effect from several flights.
