I was aware of some of the Dell supply issues, and they have some warnings
on some products about long lead times. But we really wanted a laptop with
XP on it, we spoke to the support lot and checked what the lead time was
on the specific laptop we wanted and they predictably (in retrospect)
fecked it up. We now have a delivery date in a month and laptop was
needed last Monday. Long story short. Is there any way to cancel and just
buy a bloody laptop from a real shop? Silly us.

Simply phone up or log onto the website and cancel the order.

My lad wanted a laptop. I read about the Dell supply issues. I bought an
Acer from http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ - next day delivery by City Link
    is available.
XP ones here: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/xp-downgrade/page.asp - prices
from under £400 to a grand.

    *Ding*
(I forgot the OT bit too )

Oddly they now say it's shipped, has a tracking number, a digital dispatch
    note and all sorts.

I'll be back this evening to make an arse of myself asking about panniers
for an er-5, I'm going shopping on Saturday.

    Phone Customer support. Cancel order.

Fairly straightforward. I understand that they hardly even try to
persuade you not to, at the moment.

It's not a Latitude D430 is it? We had a spare one turn up at work last week
exactly a week after the one we ordered arrived :) Today the Invoice
arrived so it's going back :-( ... when Dell can get things organised enough
    to collect it.

What are the odds that they'll collect it and then loose it and still try to
    collect the money for it?
