It bloody well is, as well you know. I didn't even mention WVM. And
    those fucking Tesco delivery vans.

Acton? Look for a blue plaque with "PAHND!" on it.

    ........why?

I think I've bitten off far more than I can chew with this whole
project, it's the first time in my life I'm quitting a job before being
    made redundant.

Sod that, find somewhere with a garage. They do exist in London.

Jesus, you must have been a right **** in a past life.

give 'em a bell - it's a datatool unit (spit!) but is the "official"
Triumph choice - they might give you a discount.

I was a relatively new rider when I moved to London, and went straight
into having to navigate Hanger Lane gyratory whenever I left the house,
which served as a baptism of fire.

I found riding in London is mostly quite good fun, hooning along the
Embankment on a summer evening is most pleasant.

As a guide, me 2 years ago:

    27, 0 NCD, Bandit 650, Off-road parking, posh(ish) part of London (Putney)

    £450 TPFT

I'm glad I've now got 2yrs NCD & live in central Derby with a garage -
    £91 :)

Is there a wikipedia page I could read?
I understand there's a link between the codeword PAHND and the one who
doesn't talk to me, and I see he is a product of the fair suburb, but
    beyond that!?.....

It's a kind of swear-box thing. Every time he alluded to having raced on
the IoM, Nigel would request that he make a donation. Sort of.

Sure *i'm* not worried about it, I'm perfectly happy to filter like a
c*nt, but the OP did ask for advice.

I'm saying any traffic and *especially* London traffic is no place to
    be complacent.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

True, but not about riding particularly. More about the pitfalls of
simple ownership. I filter like fury now, and I tailed couriers in
London last time I rode there, I could have been lucky but it seemed ok
    enough.

Ah. Not exactly picturesque round there, no wonder you have a
working-class chip on your shoulder. It's not far from where I used to
love, for "across the railway tracks and out of W4" values of not far,
    anyway.

If you can't do it you may as well get a car..

  17. From memory about 45. I was on an XL125 and it only did about 55 top
whack. And it took a fair while to get there too.

But it took off from standing like a rabbit with 5KeV up its backside..

Did that as a teenager on my secondhand 3-speed roadster bicycle. Fun
    it was.
