  1. For those interested.

The East Surrey Morris Men's annual Barn Dance is in Wallington Public
Hall (a few doors down from Geyfords, the Nissan dealer) on Saturday 1
    October, 7.45-11pm.

It's a real hoot. Lots of music, lots of yee-hah-ing, decent bar, rather
fine raffle, some show dancing by the Morris Men ourselves <cough>.
Bring your own evening picnic grub (and booze, if you want).

Tickets are £8, under-16s £4 (add a quid if buying on the door). All
proceeds to the Brain Injury Centre[1], Queen Elizabeth's Foundation.

I daresay crash space at the Chateau might be arranged (prolly a tent in
    the garden). Any takers?

    [1] Singularly appropriate, IMHO.

I may tie that in with a visit to my Pa.

By the way, I went for a drive in the company car[1] today.

Top fun -- although it does has some British Leyand quirks, mind.
Brakes, for example require a massive prod. Rattles - yes everything
rattles. Oh, and you feel every single microscopic bump of the road
    surface through the steering wheel.

Good points are: engine noise and frighenting small children and animals
with it. It's fun. Oh yes.

I'll take it out for a longer spin some time for a more detailed report.

Sadly, my gang can't do this one. My young exhibitionists have a prior
    booking.

But they love wacking sticks together - please would you let us know if
anything similar crops up again? Ta!
