I bought one 2 years ago, nice job for the money.
Be very carefull to pry the magnets away from the tank, do not allow
them to slide because the tiniest bit of grit will scratch your paint.

I've used a Lodl magnetic bag for about 3 years and only ever use the
magnets. No straps. Not once has it ever showed signs of departing and it's
carried a "pretty" wide range of items and weights. And for long distances
    too.
I've seen a few "on the clock" readings of 140 with the tank bag on and my
bike has no fairings, so maybe you're a tiny bit paranoid. Or not quite as
    stupid as me.

I lashed out for an SW Motech bag - it clips onto the petrol cap surround
via an adaptor. It's ok but a bit overpriced imo.

That's almost as funny as throwing your expensive watch in your
magnetic tank bag and wondering why the time is a mile out when you
    next look at it.

Heh, I know someone who did that (not me) and had an absolute epic
because he was 24 hours behind his mates and suddenly found he
couldn't pay for his fuel and couldn't draw any cash out. I laughed
for hours when I was told about it.

A few years back I worked for a company that used to put the following
weeks clock cards in the supervisors office on a Friday afternoon and
when I was on weekend nightshift I frequently magnetised the whole
fucking lot of them so nobody had to clock in for a week.

All you had to do was spread them out over the magnetic table used for
holding workpieces on a surface grinder and flick the switch for the
magnet. That magnet was strong enough to hold onto large chunks of
steel being forced under a grinding wheel at high speed and it always
made a good job off fucking up the cards. Funnily enough everyone
claimed a lot of overtime hours when their cards were knackered.
