  1. I'm with NatWest; aren't they owned by RBS? Better start putting
    money elsewhere.
Some of my income comes from the per diem I get living at CERN,
so at least that goes up... :-/
My house _is_ my pension fund. Switzerland paid me out in cash
because they don't have a reciprocal pensions agreement with Oz.

Just looked. The $50,000 I invested on the Sydney stock exchange
15 years or so back is now worth $35,000. Everything's in loss, even
National Australia Bank. Actually, that includes an NAB parcel at $9,000 I
    bought in January too -- it's now worth $5,000. I hate the Daily Telegraph;
if the press hadn't started spreading panic, people wouldn't have panicked.
It's the loss of OpenVMS on a global scale...

    Prace bets.

Which one of the High St travel chains is first against the wall?

This could be a mildly diverting variation on the dead-pool concept.

With travel agents, I have no idea. I haven't used one in years.

But in retail chains, I'll have a bob or two on BHS.

Telegraph is reporting another chain down. USC - never heard of it. Another
    clothes outfit.
Neither have I. Last time I went into a High St travel agent was c2003. I
bought a flight & hotel from Thomas Cook. Since then I've either booked
direct via the web or used an expedia-alike as an intermediary.

Looking at yell.com it seems there's only a choice of three national
chains: Thomas Cook, TUI t/a Thomson/1st Choice and the Co-op. The first
two are German owned so probably won't go bust but may do a Tchibo. I can't
see the Co-op going bust either.
I think it was Hog who suggested Green would load all his debt into one of
his retail brands. That's the one, you reckon?

I reckon Julian Graves and/or Holland & Barrett will be allowed to go tits-
up by the US parent. Tesco/Asda/www will squeeze them out.

Possible. Ill-defined market, it's not really clear who they're designed
to appeal to. They're another C&A waiting to happen, really.
Yep. Although H&B do seem to have had a healthy advertising budget of
    late.
