    What is this alternator of which you speak. Mine has a stator and a
    rotor driven directly off the crank. Not a brush in sight ...
    This ailment seems to be catching.

    Got back to a dead Firestorm the other day, after the flaky OEM Honda
    Reg/Rec gave up the ghost.

    Cue hasty grafting on of a Superdream RR whilst the replacement part
    arrives ...
