Did a fair few miles today on the Tigger and have started to think of my
attire for my Italy trip in the summer.

I reckon I'm prolly going to wear my HG "King" oversuit, vents open and
lining out, but what to wear under it?

The gel seat was doing a good job, but I was getting boxer ride up,
bunching and chaffing which was getting pretty painful.

So, as there are a number of other generously proportioned folk here,
what's the touring wear of choice for warmer climes? I'm wondering about
cycling shorts straight under the HGs, or maybe silk boxers.

What say the cherubic touring FOAK?

I'm not portly any more, but seamless boxers with some lycra in the
fabric mix avoid bunching. Also good for running and cycling.

Oh, does that mean you've got some old ones spare?

Buy a one piece EDZ suit and wear it under your HG kit. They make
getting kit on and off dead easy because they wick the sweat off your
body and stop your riding kit sticking to you plus you don't get that
nasty clammy sensation when everything has glued itself to any
available flesh and no matter how you try to wriggle about you still
feel as if you're wearing a cling film suit. Make sure you don't buy
    the thermal version by mistake....

Not lost that much weight. Just gone from about 76 kilos to 68.

  6. +1 on what the Ginger one said. And no cotton.

Also - long legged boxers are better for this sort of situation. Check
out the stuff from Exofficio, eg:

Cycling shorts every time. They slide around inside your trousers,
which stops your flesh 'grabbing' as you move around.

If you need a stopover point anywhere near Marsciano, I'm sure my
    parents would appreciate the company.

Brief underpants and silk longjohns. Also good under leather.

You'll be pleased to hear that EDZ make 2 piece garments which are much
easier to get on/off for fat cunts. Makes toilet trips easier too.

I wear EDZ long johns under my leather jeans. I'd wear them with
goretex/cordura garmets too. Without the thermal lining I find goretex
garmets can become overwhelmed without a wicking layer.

If you are feeling flush then merino wool is supposed to be even better
    than the EDZ stuff.

I used http://www.thermalshop.co.uk/ who have EDZ & merino

Half way betwen Como and Naples? That'll do. Tell 'em to get the kettle on

    That's the one.
Might be a little tricky as they don't actually move for another couple
of weeks. I'll tell 'em to put it on when they get there though.

    I concur. Or a two-piece, anyway.

I've just ordered some of those EDZ merino ones Gyp found, to go with my
    collection of wicking long-johns.

Cycling shorts worked for me and my generously proportioned
undercarriage. I wore armoured jeans for the majority of my trip with
occasional roadside changes into my lined w/proof textiles.
