  2. Hm.

    Added to "watch" list.

Certainly worth a few hundred quid, as a "breaker" proposition.

    That frame is horrible, mind.

Aye. 'Hammerite silver'. Yukk. Also makes me wonder whether the real
reason for it being dismantled wasn't "to make it easier to store" but
to repair a twisted frame following a prang...

Heh. This one doesn't look like a good starting point though. 'Bike in
boxes', '95% complete' etc. probably implies that you'd need another
donor bike as well. And even then, I bet you'd find that all the bits
    made of unobtanium were missing :-}

Nah - that's the sort of horrible tasteless thing we did in the 1970s.

And Hammerite is a bitch to remove - blasting it is the only way.

  7. Like rear mudguards, centre stand grab handles, rear mudguards, tool
trays, rear mudguards, front indicator/headlamp brackets, rear
    mudguards, kickstarts, rear mudguards......

Still and all, I'll have a pint at it. I was going to bid on another
this afternoon, because nobody seemed to be interested. The picture was
*crap*. So I grabbed the pic, stuck it into Photoshop, cleaned it up,
    and shuddered.

    No way.

This one's got a 'new' genuine Honda one, hence my interest.
A pint? Bloody hell, that'd be _really_ cheap, even for you. I see
it's up to £74 now. Bear in mind that I'll deffo take at least the
mudguard off your hands at the going rate+commission.

I see you didn't get it in the end. Was £336 too much for you then?

Yes. The rear guard was worth about a ton, and the rest of it was shite.

I've emailed the buyer to see if he'll part with it - no reply yet.

I doubt it. My guess is that he bought the whole bike for that one
component and will flog the rest on, piece by piece.

No, apparently the poor sap's planning on rebuilding it. I wonder what
the 10% of missing parts will turn out to be?

  14. He is? Jesus, what an idiot. What riles me is that I was outbid bo
somebody who wasn't after the only worthwhile component in the pile, but
thought he could make a decent bike out of the remains.

God knows. And that's assuming the engine is sound.

"The reason why a bike is in bits is because it was fucked to start
    with."
