    OK guys,
Mini-me no 2 on its way and I don't use it as much as I could/
should so whats the following worth. Looking on Bike trader there are
no Guzzi's nationwide under 2900 which I find weird.

1989 Guzzi Mille GT - usual spec 950cc etc
Will have 12 months MOT, new battery
in good condition overall, one small ding to petrol tank caused by a
falling trowel and one side panel missing ( can't seem to find one
    anywhere )

Not in a rush to sell as not desperate so not looking for a bargain
basement price but a realistic value that should see it gone in the
    next 2-3 months

    Piccys here

    TIA

Mileage? Not that it's that relevant on a ShiteOldGuzzi. It looks
nice. I'd have thought £1500-1700. Take a decent Le Mans Mark Two as a
benchmark: they go for maybe £2200-2500. This is not so desirable, but
it's one of the better late-1980s Guzzis.

you have a twenty-year-old dented sob missing half its fairing (and 50 of
its ccs) that has been left abandoned for a while in a garden shed, and you
want to sell it for over 2900 quid?

    good luck with that.

Didn't say I thought it was worth 2900 though did I? Nope thought not,
muppet. If I was going to punt it at that WTF would be the point of
asking TOG and Sweller for a valuation.

Ermm, dog, it's an unfaired bike, albeit with a bolt-on screen.

Here in frogland, a LM2/3 will see you lighter by 3500/4500 euros
depending on mileage, condition and equipment. For a Mille GT in decent
condition, one could ask for 2500/2700 euros, to be discussed.

At 2000 euros you'll find only a 100.000+ kilometers pile of rust sitting
in the barn since 1998. :)

So my advice to entwisti is translating his ad in french and posting it
to http://france.guzz.net/ which is under high supervision by local
    addicts.

    Agreed.
I was a really happy bunny when I got my greedy hands on a 1993 non
running 1000 Strada for beer tokens.

Christ. The LM3 isn't a particularly good Le Mans anyway. The Four was
horrible, and by the time they made the Five, people had lost interest
here. The Mark One is the expensive one here - £3000, easily, for a
really nice one. I reckon the Two is the best overall, and I'm still
looking for one. Some have been bid up to £2500+ on eBay and failed to
make reserve. I imagine a really immaculate one would fetch more, but
people don't seem to want them much.

Le Mans I and 750 S3 are the most wanted, and can be sold up to 5500-6000
    euros in good condition.
More than a 1100 Sport Corsa, Centauro or early V11 Sport, less than a
    DaytonaRS or a rare 1000 S.

    Yes, french guzzisti are nuts.

The only models that are not outrageously overpriced are the tourers/
    utilitarian T3, T4, G5, Mille GT, Strada...
My vote goes to the last Todero frames such as the 850GT, or the 750S3
for the classical look and dual front discs.

I'd really like a decent LM2 and one's on the short list (1) of bikes
that may find their way to our garage once the outfit has gone and
I've slaved my life away through the summer.

    (1) I also want a pre-unit Triton Bonnevile even though they're shit.
I've only got a few bikes on my list of bikes I've got to own at some
point and I'm going to make certain I own all of them.

    Am I showing my age?

I wanted a Triton Bonneville when I was a teenager but could only
afford really crap ones so now I can afford one that's fairly well
sorted I'll fucking well have one tvm.

    Whatever 'ticks your book'.

I'm currently rethinking my strategy. The old greenhouse is now empty
and will be demolished after Easter. The original plan was to replace it
with another shed to free up space to actually work on bikes in the
garage, but I fear a bikes expanding to fill the space available
scenario, so it may be better to just raze it to the ground and get rid
    of a couple.

I wonder if I can find a continental with a burning desire to own a GFR
(or two) and a wad of euros?

    I owned for around 3 years a early t120 based triton. I don't recall
it every actually running. I think that was the fate of most of them
    TBH.

  17. This guy is going to have to change his posting name. I've just worked
out why his posts are killfiled.

Which ever shonky mac news reader TOG uses, is at least in his hands,
incapable of constructing complex rules that get rid of the
    undesirables with little collateral damage.

  19. Yes. I replied to him from work via Google.

I simply can't figure out how to set up MacSoup to killfile Des without
    k/filing BdV and Boots.

  20. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, The Older
Given his propensity for morphing whenever the mood takes him, it's
much, *much* simpler to simply ignore his postings and not bother with a
    kill file.
