Its time for a change so I'm looking to flog the V Max. Its a 1990 full
    power imported in 2003.
Mileage is 15000 . Extras are:

    Frame brace bars
Doma exhausts (not BS stamped but not stamped ŒFor Race Use Only¹
either).I¹ve not had a problem with the MOT with them but they are damn
    loud.
    Flyscreen
    Braided hoses all round.
    Progressive Shocks

Its taxed till 31/7/06 , tested till 13/1/07.

How much should I be asking for? Parkers suggest £2250 for a 1993 , which
    seems low to me.

    Cheers

  5. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Steve belched forth and ejected the following:
Some time ago, I *almost* considered one but then Yamaha bought out the
MT-01 which, IMHO of course, id a much better prospect.

I once described it as a VMax on steroids and if I'm ever in the
position of buying a bike like that, It'd have to be the Yam.

  6. With V-Maxes, condition is everything and age isn't so important - a bit
    like Gold Wings.

A really immaculate 1990 Max with decent improvements should make £2500.
A slightly tired looking one (grubby, corrosion on the frame, and
casings, etc) will probably make under £2000.

Thanks - £2500 were my thoughts , but didn't know if I was being over
    optimistic. FS post coming up.....
