    Prone to final drive hassles....

Acksherly, that reminds me. My mate Niall is selling his for about 2.5k.

Yeah, well, that was a user defect: I should have realised the chain was
on its way out when it needed so much adjustment in such a short space
    of time.
Ooooh... if I hadn't already bought the ZX-9R, I might have been
    interested in that.

Guess he won't be wanting those OE cans, then; I really must get round
to organising my eBay exhaust extravaganza.

I'd love a Falco, but Sarah would take one look and put the bargepole back
    in the cupboard.

I'll have to have a go on one.
I'm not that bothered about a fairing. Well, maybe a nosecone sort of
    thing.

The little screen I fitted is working just perfectly. I raised it an
inch last night, no more dead flies on my visor, they are stuck to the
top of my helmet, perfect. It wobbles not one jot up to the indicated
160mph. The standard one might be different.

I had a mechanical numpty moment, and didn't realise that the fact that
my chain had done 20k miles and suddenly needed a huge adjustment meant
that it was on its way out.

The wheelie away from the toll booths probably didn't help it much, either.

I had this conversation with Pip. Cruising at 90-110 long distance it
was 149 miles to reserve, I was filling it with 15 litres ergo ~45
mpg. This doesn't really surprise me. Tuned boxer engines with a
proper Dynojet setup add 10mpg *when not using the extra performance*.
This Bandit engine is gas flowed with 1.5mm skimmed from the head,
advanced ignition, huge bore exhaust and a stage3 Dynojet setup. If I
am not riding it hard into the performance added by the high lift cams
    I would expect better economy.

TBH if I was getting 30mpg I would not be much of a Bandit12 fan.

I just googled, there are several tests quoting 150-155 miles to
reserve on the current and previous model Bandits at legal speeds. I
reckon Pip's bike needs a bit of sorting on the carburetion front.

As Eddie says, the chain parted on a French Run, knocking a hole in the
    cases. Oops.

Bloody nice Falco. He's had it from new, since late 1999/early 2000, I
think. Lobbed it on a track day in 2002 - the photographer got a superb
shot of that, which Eddie used to have on his website, but no more, it
seems. Amazingly, it just slid and damage was minimal.

Aftermarket chip and cans..... No idea of mileage, but I can put you in
    touch if you're nterested.

HBoL suggests 170-180 miles per tank, so your 150 to reserve sounds
    about right.
