This Bandit has done about 1500 miles with me so far and I've not seen
less than 120+ on a tankful and that was caning it hard 100+ on m-way.

Hmm. Loads on ebay, mostly black, mostly very low mileage. Still look like
****-off enormous lumps, though.

How come people with these three-continents-in-a-day mega-tourers clock up
only a couple of K a year, when even I averaged 6K a year on the Drifter and
kept the rest of the fleet exercised?

If I was to buy a GL1800, it would have to be black.

So much for Intelligent Design.

 

Ugly I think though. Covered in expensive fragile plastic. The tail
unit forces pannier kits to sit out almost at car width. They are at
least not overweight in the way of a K1200, I give them that. I don't
like the low speed feel of them though. On wet greasy roads I didn't
feel particularly in touch or secure.

The latest incarnation, the 1200 looks a little better, especially in
black as seen here

highlights one of the things that bugs me. Why build a 180mph
supercruiser and give it a screen/fairing which knocks the high speed
breeze right into the shoulders/head?
