Paging TOG ...

  1. Hog phoned me last night with the full SP.

Sounds a PITA but not the end of the world, especially as he can flog
those DG heads to pay for it.

Like you, I'm amazed it ran at all, let alone as sweetly and quietly and
well as it did, with all that. Apart from the gearbox hassle, it felt
like a nice well-sorted RD to me.

    Strokers, eh?

Well, that was an educational ShiteOldBike weekend, all in all.

    Lessons learned:

    1. Strokers are always trouble.

    2. Any bike that's running perfectly will conk out the moment you sell
    it (XS650).

    3. Send word that you're messing with SOBs and half of ukrm will turn
out, just to point and laugh.

I find this attitude interesting becuase it's exactly the same my
parents had. At 17 they gave me driving lessons and an 18 they bought me
a car on the condition that I didn't sell it and buy a bike. I took me
another 25 years to pass my test a buy a bike but I did it in the end.
I am MUCH safer now than I would have been then so can't really fault
    their decision.

My dad offered to buy me a car if I didn't buy the bike, just before I went
    to University.

After two days driving around Bristol in a car, he realised why I wanted a
bike. Still wasn't happy, but did give me £500 for towards some nice
    leathers, bless.
