The Older Gentleman says... OK. I just thought an 06 plate SV650S with 6.5K on the clock and a lightly damaged fairing would be well worth that, even with a Cat D against it. It wouldn't cost a fortune to fix the fairing and put a new gear lever on then have a reliable cheap first bike for someone who can afford to take a small hit on it in a year's time. -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE (Black with added black bits) GSF600SW (broked) "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord" does not refer to blasphemy during ejaculation - Tori 2006
It could be the camera lens but the forks look anything but straight (3rd photo down on the left)..... Dave
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, WavyDavy Well, the description says "Forks and wheels straight", so if they're not, you'd just walk away. Then neg the fucker. :^) -- Wicked Uncle Nigel - Podium Placed Ducati Race Engineer as featured in Performance Bikes and Fast Bikes WS* GHPOTHUF#24 APOSTLE#14 DLC#1 COFF#20 BOTAFOT#150 HYPO#0(KoTL) IbW#41 SBS#39 OMF#6 Enfield 500 Curry House Racer "The Basmati Rice Burner", Honda GL1000K2 (On its hols) Kawasaki ZN1300 Voyager "Oh, Oh, It's so big" Suzuki TS250 "The Africa Single" Yamaha Vmax Honda ST1100 wiv trailer
With the market in its current state, a 2006 6400-miler (high miles for only six months) SV is worth maybe £3500 privately. Secondly, I doubt if the damage is limited to the minor fairing scratches referred to. Otherwise why would it be a Category D write-off? Let's say it costs £500 to replace the bits - OK, you would be able to repair it for less, but let's assume that you want to put it back to original immaculate nick. So now you have a saving of £500, and it's still a Cat D rebuild.
