Really? Struck me as quite a lot of bike for the money. What's the
    reasoning for the "not"?

OK. I just thought an 06 plate SV650S with 6.5K on the clock and a
lightly damaged fairing would be well worth that, even with a Cat D
against it. It wouldn't cost a fortune to fix the fairing and put a new
gear lever on then have a reliable cheap first bike for someone who can
afford to take a small hit on it in a year's time.

It could be the camera lens but the forks look anything but straight (3rd

Well, the description says "Forks and wheels straight", so if they're
    not, you'd just walk away.

    Then neg the fucker. :^)

  8. With the market in its current state, a 2006 6400-miler (high miles for
only six months) SV is worth maybe £3500 privately.

Secondly, I doubt if the damage is limited to the minor fairing
scratches referred to. Otherwise why would it be a Category D write-off?

Let's say it costs £500 to replace the bits - OK, you would be able to
repair it for less, but let's assume that you want to put it back to
    original immaculate nick.

So now you have a saving of £500, and it's still a Cat D rebuild.
