    yet another valuation:

    2001/Y CBR929RR-1 blue/white/yellow. A few less miles than 12K, but
it's had it's 12K service (FSH, and had the exup-style cables replaced
at the last service). Very good condition, though not quite "mint" -
has a small repaired nick in the pillion seat. Double bubble screen.
Blueflame carbon-kevlar endcan + original. Needs taxed and tested, but
    assume I'll get this done.

    Parkers's gives:

    Independent Dealer £3,595
    Private Good £3,190
    Private Poor £2,835
    Part Exchange £3,040

In the real world, On Yer Bike offered my 2,800 as a trade-in
indicating that Parkers are either optimistic or On Yer Bike are
    tight. Or both.

    ta.

    darsy says...
I can make and fit a new seat cover for 20 quid if it'll put some more
value on the bike as a whole.

I may well take you up on that - ta.

When I say "repaired", I mean I superglued it so it wouldn't tear
further. It's only about 10mm long, but if you were being picky you'd
    definitely notice it.

  4. Hm. To be honest, I'd expect a 2001 Blade to go for a bit less than
£3600-odd from a dealer. I'd say nearer £3200, because the market is
such shite at the moment. So I'd reckon the p/ex to be maybe a couple of
hundred quid less than the price given above.

Depends on what it's being traded in against, of course, but that means
£2800 is realistic. I really don't rate Parkers - it's always too pricy.

    Hmmmmmm.

OK, let's have a look at completed Blade auctions on Ebay. We've got a
2001 RR1 with 20k on the clock sold for £2300. And a similar "damaged
repaired now mint" one for £2250.

That does indeed make Parkers' private sale price look silly, so I'd say
that OYB were actually being generous.
