  2. I am sure he will, just as soon as he is released from the Intensive
    Care Unit.

  3. That's about the only thing that's made me smile today. I can't believe
that after all this time the damn deal took about 3 hours via the ukrm
    airwaves.

  7. But I *am* interested in Timos VFR..

Timo - what colour, year and mileage is it? And whereabouts do you
live? It strikes me I could drop the Tiger off with darsy and pick the
VFR up from you on the same day if you live in roughly the same area..

    Mileage is approx 40k, it's a 1995 (from memory - M plater, I think)
and it's silver. I'll try to do the brakes tomorrow but would also need
the lhs mirror as that lost an argument with my CB450.

The plan was to sort out the brakes, give it a service (oil change and
all that), then ride it to the local MOT station as the MOT's running
out at the end of the month.

I should point out that it's in reasonable nick but somewhat
cosmetically distressed - the PO managed to drop it on both sides onto
the crash bungs, plus the lack of space in my garage added a bunch of
    scratches to that.

As I said, it comes with a Givi Wingrack and three Givi cases (and keys
for all of them...). As it's a UKRM sale I'll also throw in the Baglux
tank harness that I'd sell separately if I were to flog it on fleabay.
Oh, and it comes with the Honda workshop manual on CD.

Apart from riding, here's what I've done to it since buying it last
    year:

    - Usual service stuff - new airfilter, plugs (yes, all four), fuel
    filter...
    - New reg/rect
    - Two new batteries, on account of the muppets who "fixed" the reg/rect
the first time but forgot to insulate the cables so it killed the first
    battery
    - Sorted out several niggly electric problems that came from the PO's
ill-advised removal of the alarm, plus a lot of other niggly stuff
    - Fitted bar raisers
    - Currently trying to fit two new front disks (old ones are warped) and
new used calipers as one of the calipers was a bit terminal. Actually a
bit more terminal than just a bit.
    - Haven't checked the rear brake yet but I'll do that as part of the
    servicing/MOT prop
    - Obviously oil changes and all that. Another one is due now (or a
couple of hundred miles overdue but I don't really use the bike for
    short journeys anyway).
I'm about 80 miles away, roughly South-East (Ashford, Kent). Although
if we can work out the timing and you'd consider doing the deal during
the week, I work in London and usually commute by bike anyway.

well, I don't usually commute by bike, but picking up the Tiger in
London and riding it home would be do-able (though this week is tight,
as I'm probably going to be Paris Tuesday/Wednesday, and going out on
the piss straight from work on Thursday).

I think we probably work in a fairly similar area - I'm near St.Pauls.

Indeed we are - I moved from across the road from you to opposite
London Guildhall, but that's only about 5 minutes on foot anyway.

Sorry, don't know what the pub across the street is called, even
though the name rings a faint bell.

  12. I sense a plan coming together here..

All that is needed is for the VFR to be up and running!

I don't mind the cosmetic distressment as long as it runs well - I have
plenty of time to sort that stuff out (as long as the fairing is
intact) and as long as the front brakes are sorted.

I like the fact that it's got bar risers as that was the only point I
didn't like about my old (green) VFR.

  13. The other possibility is that I can drop the Tiger off with darsy and
take the (shudder) train down to Kent and pick the VFR up from Timo.
That way I can do it at the weekend rather than during the week.

And I can stop off at my brothers place in West Kingsdown and get a
decent feed before I start back to Yokeldom.

    [snip VFR stuff]

if, as suggested in Timo's other thread, that the VFR's not going to
happen, let me know if you could bring the Tiger to Enfield, or if I
have to come out to wherever the hell it is you are based (Swindon, is
    it?)

I'm quite keen to get the ball rolling...

  15. It would probably be easier for you to come to Swindon. Train is the
easiest way (we'll pick you up from the station). If that is awkward
then I'll work out how to drop it off in Enfield - as long as you can
drop me off at Arnos Grove afterwards so that I can get down to
Paddington to get a train home.
Strike while the iron is hot and all that.

I'm still mildly boggled that you can work somewhere and /not/ know
the name of the nearest pub!

    <fx: checks thetrainline.co.uk>

OK, £12/2.5 hour journey - that's doable. Are you free this coming
    Saturday afternoon?
that, and the fact I'm finding being road-bike-free a bit of a
    troubling sensation.

cool - either this one or the sticky one - I'm checking both at the
    moment.

You might want to tell him how you want paying - direct transfer to
your bank account would suit me, rather than me having to walk around
    with a wodge of cash...
