    usual service please

    1999 T reg Varadero 1000, Black/silver, 16K miles, will have 12 months
MOT. taller aftermarket screen, full Original Honda Luggage, Givi crash
bars (Brand new , not yet fitted), scottoiler, nearly new tyres (Michelin
Anakees) Baglux Tank cover, Autocom with 1 headset. Good condition
overall, a couple of small marks but nothing worth writing home about.

A quick National search on Biketrader starts at £2K for bikes without the
goodies and a lot higher mileage but I realise these are what people want
rather than what they get. I could do with a reasonably quick sale purely
from space POV but I'm not in NEED of the sale for the cash if you get me.

    TIA

TBH it sort of fell into a vat of apathy[1] as I've been busy doing other
stuff. I sort of pulled my finger out last week and decided to clear a
load of stuff out that I can't justify keeping.

[1] well, tbh I sold it once but what was meant to be a friend who I was
doing a very decent favour to did a big dirty on me so I ended up getting
it back as he decided he couldn't be arsed to pay for it when the majority
was due, then the tw@t went and spent more money on a dodgy old VFR 750.

If I got £2.2K for it i'd be happy.

    @mid.individual.net:

    Optimistic IMV.

There are just so many bikes of that age around. It was during a boom
period of new sales. Even residuals of R-GS of that era are feeling the
    pinch.

The adventure bike market seems to be on the wane, especially. I was
looking at Transalp prices earlier today after a chat with a potential
buyer. 2 year old bikes are selling for about £3k, which is great if you
are a buyer. Dealers are advertising new ones for £4400, so £4k is probably
achievable with a bit of haggling. Some people advertising used bikes on
Autotrader really need to wake up to the real world.

I'd sell the Varadero now, for what you can get. It will be worth a lot
less next spring when a wave of early 955i Tigers hit the sub £2000
    bracket.

  5. Wessie is pretty much on the money.

Stick it on Ebay with a starting price of £1499 and see what happens.

(Val Doonicans are *really* not in the want, if you hadn't worked it
out. African Queens are more desirable, and people looking for big Jap
trailies will head for a V-Strom).
