    Valuation, please:

Yamaha Diversion 900, 38k miles, 12 month MOT, 6 month tax.

Not perfect - had a low speed drop (pushing it around on a car park,
    allegedly)

Motad stainless system and Givi rack.

    It's on a 2002 52 plate - asking price is £1300.

Is that about right? - or is it 'bite his hand off' money?

  2. It's on the cheap side of all right, which reflects the ding.

As a cheapo distance commuter and/or tourer, go for it.

No history with the bike, so I gave it a miss.

What are the pre-Diversion XJ900s like?

Seen a tidy looking bike with 49k miles on it, up at £895....

In a perverse way, I prefer the older shape.

  5. They're faster and just as robust but not quite as comfy. Weather
protection isn't quite as good. Tyre sizes are a bit more dated, as you
might expect. The entire drive shaft/bevel box assembly was used on the
    Divvie
Bruce Porter loves his. The must-check item on these is the fuel tank
seam, bottom edges, at the back. Moisture collects inside the tank and
    they rust from the inside.

    Yep, passed 87k today :)

I finally replaced the tank last winter, 50ukp for a 2nd hand one that
cost another 50ukp to have sprayed (black)
    450ukp new !
