Anyone got a source for a coil for a 1200 Trophy?

Plugs 1 and 4 are sooty as ****, plugs 2 and 3 running normal.
Float heights are fine, mixture screws set at the "Mechanic in the Triumph
shop" recommended 3 turns out on all 4. Air filter clean.

After a few words with MITTS this morning I have deduced that a coil is
    breaking down.

Anyone got one I can filch or buy?

Done EBay and some on watch....

Why? A coil going usually has other symptoms.
You can do some more data collecting before you spend your money and you
can take some of wild guess out of your fault finding procedures.

Look at the coil in the dark with the engine running especially in damp
weather, is the area around it full of pretty blue sparks like one of
them plasma lamps? If so it is fucked.

Have a mate with a decent megga check it over for more subtler internal
    failures.

Swop the two coils over for a couple of tanks and see if the symptom
    moves.

As Steve said .... and some auto electricians have a coil tester
    which
    ... well... tests coils !

Talk to sprint manufacturing for a decent price on replacement coils.

On my old thunderbird I replaced all three of the coils with nology
units for the price of one dealer supplied triumph unit.

They may even use the same coils ( assuming you have 4 ) as the 885.

Tried the swap coil thing and the misfire (B+Very intermittent) and
occasional stutter on medium acceleration from low revs still remains.
Don't know anyone with a megger, or I'd have done it meself.
Running a cable from the body to a good earth point didn't accentuate the
    misfire or show any sparking.
