Got an interesting issue with my TVDrive which I'm sure is down to how
I have the scart leads connected.

    They're connected like this...

All scarts are directional as indicated by the arrows and all the
    leads are fully wired.

The problem occurs with the lead going from the TVDrive to the DVDR.
This is connected to the VCR out on the TVDrive and is intended for
archiving stuff to disc whilst you watch output from the other
    connection to the tv.

When this lead is disconnected, everything works fine. Apart from me
not being able to record from the TVDrive.

When it's connected, everything still works, apart from when I'm
viewing stuff recorded by the TVDrive. The programs play fine, but
when you exit the TVDrive function the tv rapidly switches between
pictures. I think it's switching between the TVDrive-TV connection
and the TVDrive-DVDR-TV connection. Always after 4 switches it
settles back to the TVDrive-TV connection that is was on before.

Anyone got any ideas as to how it can be wired to avoid this? I have
to wire the TVDrive in that way otherwise I have to record from the
'viewing' tuner (in traditional cable/satellite style) and that puts
it out of use for anything else.

  2. Scart Pin 8 carries a switching voltage to enable the slave end to
    change over to that input.

Try disabling pin 8 by teasing out the pin and taping it back on the
lead. If it works, fine. If not, nothing lost and no damage will occur.

So I'd want to do this on the end of the scart going into the DVDR
    from the TVDrive?

  4. If you reckon that's the cable causing the problem, yes.

No sure it's a cable IYSWIM, I think it's the tv getting a confused
over two inputs giving it the same thing.

The solution I've found is just to unplug that lead until I need it.
Which isn't that frequently as 909% of our recording is done onto the
    TVDrive rather than the DVDR.
