There's a Honda CB400 Super Four for sale privately in Southport, T&T
but with 52k (in kph, obviously), and some slight panel damage.

The owner is asking £1200 - I think that's a bit pricey. Any idea of a
figure that would be reasonable? Ta.

Sounds like it's about £400 OTT to me.

    That's what I was thinking. Oh, it's a K reg, so 92/93?

  4. Depends how bad the damage is, but that's a bit leggy for a grey import.
£1200 is taking the piss. I'd reckon £700. I mean, you can get a decent
Baby Blade for under a grand.

Yeah I courted a very clean Dealer CB1 with a new MOT and tyres, low
    miles, for a grand.

Considering that there is a younger model with less miles on and
warranty for sale at the Honda dealership in Ormskirk, for a couple of
hundred quid more, I don't think it's worth bothering with. I also
reckon if they walked into the dealership with a wedge of cash - but
lower than the advertised price - that they'd come out with the bike.

The seller reckons she's spent about £500 on it recently, but most of
that is on consumables to keep the bike roadworthy (ie, tyres, pads) I
get the impression she thinks the value of the bike should be higher
due to flashing the cash at it.

Choice and availability would be a lot better if the lad who's looking
didn't have a thing about faired bikes.

Thanks very much, but his postcode is PR, not L ) And I don't reckon
that the mileage stated on the ads is entirely accurate, especially the
one for sale at Aprilia Yorkshire )

Err, would that be Southport Superbikes? Has it gone on fire then?
I've not heard owt, although Karwowski Motors did go up good style last
    week.

It'll be that one then, unless the arsonists have been active over there
    :)

Been to see an R-reg UK GS500E today, 21k on the clock, standard
throughout, FSH plus all MOT's, bits just been replaced such as C&S,
battery, recent service including receipts to prove. No nocks or
rattles, sounds sweet and handles well - well, ok for a GS I think,
compared to my usual ride ;o)

Deposit put down, go to collect on Monday when Nick's got his
    cover-note sorted )

Strangely, after seeing the GS I had absolutely no inclination
whatsoever to see the Super Four.
