the other day, I was going through some old floppies to find an old file and saw that one of the disks had the parity boot virus. I wanted the file that was there though, so I got it and then threw away the floppy. My PC told me sternly to boot up from a clean disk - of course, I haven't got any disks to boot from. Since then, I've had no problems. Does modern Windows (I'm on 98 I think) deal with this on its own? -- Marina Mayes - Reading, UK. Normally your BIOS would have prevented anything untoward happening. If it didn't then your AV software would have.
