Parking...

In North Sydney, the new Pizza Hutt place is taking over the bike parks with
its delivery scooters. There's at least half a dozen of them parked there
permanently taking space away from the regular folk, in what was already a
packed parking space. What is the take on this? It doesn't affect me as I
get there early enough to have a spot, but I'm imagining that there's now at
least 6 riders who now have to park somewhere else because of this.
Is this considered fair use for a business to use free parking which
commuters could and should otherwise be using?

Also since the boom in motorcycle registration, are any councils responding
    by offering more parks?

well they do pay registration and prob business rego which is generally
    higher
so they have every right to park there

Pizza Hut should have parking permits to allow them to park in a normal
    space
    without paying the meter

When are you going to the council meeting to discuss the lack of parking
    spaces
and the unaccesable disabled space ?

I wouldn't have thought so. What if I open a motorcycle dealership there and
    use all the spots?
I'm sure it is legal for them to park there now, but there should be some
sort or policy to prevent businesses using public space to make money, when
it negatively effects deprives the public of a public amenity.

    One day...

Actually, I have noticed a number of motorcycle parking areas appear in
the Chatswood shopping area over the last 6 months or so.

I guess that would be the work of Willoughby Council.

Case study. Peter Stevens Motorcycles - Ringwood. Several car parking
right out the front signposted "Motorcycles Only". The car parking
spaces on either side of the Motorcycle Only are signposted "Cars only
no motorcycles". Most bike shops in busy shopping strips with very
limited parking would kill for convenient customer bike parking... but
noone ever accused Peter Stevens of thinking of their customers. First
thing every morning they wheel out the second hand bikes and pretty much
completely fill all of the available parking spots with their hand bikes.

Oh ok. You call it moan, I call it discuss. After all that's what discussion
    groups are for aren't they?

  15. Just a few hours ago, Carol asked if I'd give her some whine.

So I said, "Bloody crap weather we're having, isn't it. And the garden
just won't respond without any rain. When I took the bike for a spin
before, the wind was blowing me all over the road. How about we just
    cuddle tonight, for a change."

I think that's about the time she hit me.
