Bollocks is it. There's nothing wrong with that URL as I see it.

A quality newsreader is your friend.

Thus spake Ben Blaney unto the assembled multitudes:
    Well, lucky old you.
    That's arrogant crap.

It's better to provide a URL that *everyone* can use, rather than expect
everyone to be using a 'quality' newsreader. Write for the benefit of
your audience, rather than expect your audience to come up to your
standards. At least the OP had the presence of mind to apologise for the
    possibly unusable URL.

Are there any newsreaders that can't handle wrapped URLs by
highlighting, right-clicking, & selecting a 'go to...' or 'repair...'
    option (or something similar)?

Thus spake Krusty unto the assembled multitudes:
There are some, but the point is that not only can some newsreaders not
handle long URLs, but long URLs can also be 'spoiled' by quoting and other
text formatting and rendered unusable even to newsreaders that can normally
handle them. The very fact that services like TinyURL exist and used so
much must indicate that many people out there cannot handle long URLs for
    one reason or another.

Yes, I think that pretty often.
    It's a fact. A stone-cold fact.
    Why is that better?

No, it just means that many, many people have crap newsreaders and
    mail clients.

    **** them.

  11. that URL would work here, but some wouldn't - it depends on how (whether)
it's been wrapped. Not always predictable.

    tinyurl is dead handy.

  12. ah, but it is, though; I offer the following as evidence:

    http://tinyurl.com/twat
    http://tinyurl.com/****
which newsreader do you use, then, oh omniscient one?
depends whether you want people to read what you're writing and to think
favourably of you or you want people to think you're an arrogant **** who
    CBA, I reckon.

it'a a bit like trimming all the shite out of ebay URLs to just leave the
item number (works just as well, and not prone to get broken) or leaving it
    in and saying sod it.

depending on what it's an URL for, I sometimes can't be bothered
reassembling 4 lines worth of broken URL so as to look at it, whereas on the
other side of the coin, it costs me a few seconds extra to copy and paste
into tinyurl and post the resultant link.

from the strawbuilt shed, The cock's shrill clarion, or the echoing
horn, No more shall rouse them from their lowly bed."

ARRRGGHHHH! Please don't tell me you pronounce it 'earl', & that you
just slipped a spurios 'n' in there by mistake.

    a tin one....

Ah, fucking ebay URLs Why not just post the item number?
I refer the honourable gentleman to the reply I gave a few moments ago
    (ref: quality newsreaders)
A quality newsreader removes this requirement.

If everyone used a quality newsreader, it wouldn't be an issue.
Only for people with inferior software.

And not for people who like to see what they're clicking before they
    click it.

Unfortunately tinyurl is also dead useless as most corporate firewalls
    block it...

It's very useful if people do provide both for the
newsreader-challenged ones amongst us, but just providing a tinyurl is
    not very useful at all.

  20. cos then people can't just click on it to look at it. Posting a link is
    more useful and more friendly.

Posting the item number means you have to fart about starting a browser and
then pasting it into the ebay search page.

What's the point in banging on about how fucking marvellous your newsreader
( I notice you didn't bother replying about what software you use...) and
how it can handle any link, if you then advocate not posting links in the
    first place?
