so we have the 1986 suzuki TS 125 XUF now, had it a day and i've got it in
    bits all over the garage,

Mechanicaly it's nowhere as bad as i made out or even thought, rear
suspension seems to be fine... it all unbolted easily.. except for the
bottom bolt that holds the shock in place, that ones stuck so is soaking in
plus gas now, that's also where the squeek is coming from, so that bush is
prolly fubar'd, i'll get the air rattle gun on it tommorow me thinks,

All the other bushes and bearings are good on the suspension.. bloody weird
design tho, no wonder people say they're a pain to work on.

the frame is surprisingly straight and all that, maybe this bike hasnt been
off road much, mind it's not the best off roader about to start with,

front brakes are all new, including the disc, rear brakes had new shoes in
there.. but i'd noted a rubbing noise so pulled the wheel off, the shoe
return springs were not on.. they'd lost the hook parts, and been put back
    on like that!!
found out you can't get new shoe return springs for this bike.. luckily i
found some springs that will work.

But you can guess where this is heading.. there's a few parts i need, and
they seem to be hard/impossible to get new, wondering if anyone on here has
the following items, or knows of where i might get em from,

First thing i need is the light switch assembly, last owner was no good at
wiring it seems, so when the indicators packed up, he removed them.. pulling
the indicator switch out of the light switch assembly, horn button was
dodgy.. so another button was ran in.. button came off a kids bike i think,

apparantly the light switch is available new, but expensive, anyone got one
hanging about?? i'm wondering if one from another trials style bike will
fit.. the suzi one has.. one slider button for lights off.. side lights,
headlights, second slider button for hi and low beam,
a passing light button.. something i prolly can live without,
    horn and indicator switches,
so unless other bikes use weird wiring, i should be able to make anotehr one
fit? i'm fine with wiring and all that.

I also need the 2 stroke oil tank's low oil sender, the wires have been
broken off right at the switch, would take a whole oil tank if needed,

Desperately need a rear rack, i assume the indicators bolt on there, but we
also want to carry some luggage on the bike even if it's only a curry or
    pizza.

engine temp switch.. i was amazed this bits been discontimued, but the suzi
bike shop we have in town is renowned for being unhelpfull unless your
    buying a new bike.

Air box tube.. i've got the air box, but the pipe that goes from the box to
the carb is missing, but also the plastic bit that makes the right angle
turn is missing, again i'll buy a whole air box if needed.

The rear light is one of thos silly motorcross ones, with no numberplate
illumination, so a proper rear light assembly would be nice.. if a bit ugly.

Very long shot.. the metal plate thingy thats below the rear mudguard, they
always rust out it seems, anyone know of one that's not so rusted out, or a
place that can make a new one from whats left of the old one.. i can weld
and all that, but not press a sheet of metal into this shape.

And finaly.. desperately need a wiring diagram.. or even a whole manual for
this bike.. haynes dont do one for the X series TS it seems. and mr suzi
wants 40+ quid for the genuine one.

    Sorry for all the questions,
anoyne know of any breaker that are likely to have TS 125's in.. in the east
midlands region.. tried blandies at sleaford, but he's not got much left
nowadays, not doing breaking much nowadays.

Yes please, seems the breakers that do have TS 125's in are all millions of
miles away from me, i only really need a lighting switch and a rear light..
oh and the wiring diagram to get the indicators working again, and get an
mot, but the lighting switches in breakers are likely to be as bad as the
one i have.. might have to plump the 57 quid mr suzuki wants for a new one
    after all :(

  7. No.

BUT...Bike Bits in Ramsgate (I know it's nowhere near but I'll get to that
part) is/was like Fagin's house but *full* of SOB bits. If all else fails
you could give them a tinkle to see if they have the bits you want. If they
have then I'll bimble down there and rummage on your behalf. Even with
postage it's going to be cheaper than new.

CampinGazz let forth with a mighty belch and uttered :
The Internet is your friend, as is partfinder and similar.

You need to compile a list of what you need, and if something is part of a
larger assembly, such as the snorkel and outlet from the airbox, just
specify the whole assembly to the breakers. Much easier.

Dont forget places like M&P for the rear light and number plate assembly, or
your local dirbike shop. They may have a suitable one complete with
    indicator mounts.

Time to get creative. Time to scour ebay for a microfiche --> CD of your
    bike too.

BTW, this is why cheap and good do not often sit in the same sentence when
buying old 125 dual purpose bikes.

  9. He was told this before he bought the thing.

BTW, I've just been sorting out the electrics on the DT50MX I got for
Jamie. Bolted in new battery, bought a few new bulbs, and hunted in the
box of bits I got with it for all the lights that were unbolted when it
was first used as a field bike, a decade ago.

Yes, we have electric power, yes the thing is charging, and one item by
another, we got the entire electrical system back to life (the only item
    working previously was the horn).

I tell you, this is turning into a really sweet little DT50 (or DT60, as
    it now is, ahem).

Cost so far is about ukp400, and it's now road legal and ready to roll.
I'm thinking of appropriating it as a fun town bike until he's old
    enough for it next year.

Still to do - I want to remove the swinging arm and get it blasted and
then re-spray it. It could use new fork gaiters and handlebar grips.
I've repainted the spare exhaust and that can go on soon....
