Passed my Motorcycle Theory Test

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Nick Le Lievre, Oct 13, 2009.

  1. In Jersey there is no Hazard Perception part just the questions passed with
a score of 34/35. Have applied to renew my provisional licence as current
    one expires 20/10/09.

Will have no problem obtaining another 6 months on the road and in that time
I must take a practical test.

I am thinking how hard can a 50cc automatic moped test be? no reversing, no
gears, no issues with steering, can go above 30 so they cannot expect you to
    do over that.

  3. Yeah I expect too, the one thing I need to do is the lifesaver to the left
just before pulling in after overtaking a parked car to check for
    peds/cyclists.

Which is an absolute waste of fucking time anyway. Why should you do a
lifesaver then, the car isn't moving and anything that would hinder
your move back in front of the car will be easily visible from your
front view as you pass the car. You'll be checking to see if there's
anything behind you that isn't going to be of any consequence to your
riding at all. All this will do is take your eyes off the road ahead
for longer than is safely needed. I this case what Champ says really is
    true - what's behind doesn't matter.

Yup - quite right. And if you spot one ride directly at them and scare
    them shitless.

It fucking well does when it's got flashing blue lights on, with blue
    uniformed occupants gesticulating at me.

Allright, a tad harsh, everyone's gotta learn but **** me there are
some arsehole driving instructors on the road at the moment, really
noticed a few numpty fuckers that im positive are poor instructors and
not the fault of the drivers.

Couple of times where Ive been behind them in a 50 or 60 only doing 40,
and i don't mean just after entering it, i mean into it by over a mile,
more than enough time to get safely up to speed.

Another that Im sure told the student to carry on at a roundabout I was
approaching fairly (and probably faster than the signed road speed)
fast, the student you can forgive, but the instructor?

Still, I do love me bike :)

Yeah, and when the road is clear they speed up, making it impossible to
overtake, then they slow down again. Twats.

I heard on R4 last week that something like 2 out of 5 male drivers < 21
will be involved in a serious accident.

We call this learning to drive?

Yeah but *you* tried harder. No application, that's the *real* issue.
And of course they can't read and write.
