....as described by the NOAA Weather Service was actually more like : "A Hard
Rain's a Gonna Fall" between Jenner and Elk on CA Route One today.
I mean if I had KNOWN that visibility would be 10-20 feet, and that they
really did not mean "patchy anything" ubless they meant patchy visibility
    puntucated by violent downpours.
But we did manage to make it to Queenie's Roadhouse Cafe in Elk, where I
swear on my ancestor's graves, that the best cheeseburger in the entire 7
    dimensions is.
No kidding. And I have had a lot of cheeseburgers in my 53 years, so I do
know enough to make a sweeping judgement on the matter.
The rest of the ride into Spendocino was dry albeit a tad damp in the socks.
The Roadcrafter did it's job , but next time it will be my Sidi On Roads or
    nada!
I took a chance on hiking boots with lace up fronts, to save space but never
    again.
Thanks a lot Weather Prognosticators, next time can you just have someone
look out the dam window and tell you what is actually happening?

Try Weather Underground http://www.wunderground.com. They have a lot of
personal weather stations in out-of-the-way places that may give you the
kind of microclimate guidance you need.

    Thanks.
You know I did view the NOAA radar long range and short, composite and base
reflectivity, and there was nothing showing in the way of precip when we
left The City at 1030. Maybe it was one of those sneaker uppers...
But today was a full blown miracle riding day.
I got up at 700, guzzled down a cuppa joe in Mendo, then bore down on the
Holy Grail of Holy Twisties between Westport and Leggett.
    Yow.
Even though I was riding my R1100RS ( with it's new wonderful Ohlins shocks)
it was just as wonderful as ever. In fact with the shorter torque arm to
boost the ride height and those shocks dialed in nicely the old girl was
pretty dam ferocious on the whine-diest of the whine-dees.
I got back in time to nap away the late AM and then squire my wife around
    the shops in FartBag.
The nice thing about riding two up on a trip up here, is that expensive
gallery stuff never fits in a top case or tank bag...
