I'm interested, but the wife is on her clinical placement until
mid-November, which means she's working most weekends, this in turn means
that I'm looking after my daughter

Sounds good. The Wear runs through Stanhope doesn't it? Nice run from
there back down to piercebridge and Sciotch Corner for a cuppa before the
