Petrol on the Plastic

I'll begin by stating that I can be incredibly stupid at times.

Today, stinking hot, filling the Beemer up with Vortex 98, the petrol
sprayed back up and all over the black plastic around the instruments.
    Not a pretty sight now.

Any practical tips on rejuvenating said plastic, anyone?

    TIA

Depending how bad it is, I'd start with Armour-all or shoe polish (nugget),
or if it's really bad, respray with satin black. Not matt, not gloss. Satin
    Black.

Thanks- it worked an absolute treat. The silicone spray I had at hand
    was "Mothers Protectant".
