Piece of cake

  1. Got this touch typing sussed. I'm up to 5.3 words a minute already! This
post created with hardly a glance at the keyboard.

am I missing something here? Presumably you're using a Spanish layout
keyboard, but even so: all the letters are in the same place as a UK
    keyboard, aren't they?

When I'm forced to use an AZERTY keyboard, I just set the input
language to English (UK) and make sure I don't look at the keyboard (I
don't look at a QWERTY one anyway).

    Just tryed this:

    http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php

    68wpm, 2 mistakes.

I'd suggest that > 50% backspaces would result in very little output.

    Neat. I've always wondered...
70wpm, 1 mistake: "curatin". I noticed it when I was a few words past,
but thought that going back that far would slow me down.

    "Your speed was: 109wpm.

    You made 1 mistake"

That 1 mistake was where I assumed one(odd character)s was meant to be
    one's, so I wouldn't really it a mistake either.

  17. Some stuff's in different places, ie; most punctuation, and we have a
couple of extra letters and some upside down stuff. As per the other
thread, I can type fast when looking at the keyboard, but this is new to
    me.
Until yesterday, I didn't *conciously* know where all the keys were.
    Whoops!

Pretty good. I got 'only' 48 wpm, with one mistake (I typed "though"
for "'tho" - fucking poetry, eh?).

And that's with my patented 'look at the keyboard, not the screen your
    typing on' approach.

Touch-typing? Naah, forget it, like I was saying before.

    fair enough.

which BTW, there is no way I can touch-type on in it's normal mode -
the French are weird - having to shift to get a full stop does my head
in, especially when you're typing in URLs.
    I know - it's great, isn't it?

No, I've just been typing for 27 years or so.

Never had any training though, self-imposed or otherwise.
