    <Does sums backwards>

    42lbs x 3500 calories = 147,000 calories, in 80 days, or

    1837.5 calories a day deficit.

    Blimey.

  11. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Salad Dodger amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
Live on cereal or beans on toast for a week and see the weight drop off!

I've done it and it works.

  13. In uk.rec.motorcycles, steve auvache amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:

I can't remember the last time I had a squirt. Actually, it was a few
years ago when I was riding round Parliament Square and just had to have
a shit. I ran into the Broadcasting standards, proclaimed my need to go
(luckily the receptionist took pity on me) and I ran round the back,
through this library and into the bog. Soon as I hit the seat it
streamed out with the noisiest[1] shit I'devr done. It also stank the
place out in a manner that happens only once in a blue moon but that was
more to do with something dodgy I'd eaten rather than cereal and beans.

I've also lived on a diet of fruit only and not got the squits.

[1] Did the same thing in Burger King earlier in the day. Although less
urgent, the noise and smell was equally appalling and I was proud and
laughed out loud when I left the toilet cos there were loads of suits in
    there eating their lunch.

  15. Having hit the 14 stone mark in mid December 2004 I decided to stop
taking sugar in tea/coffee etc (3 mugs/day) and see what happened.
I was flabbergasted to lose a whole stone in the first month (which
included Christmas you will note!) - but after that no further losses.
Presumably my new weight corresponded with my new calories in/energy
    out balance.

Since then I have removed my (week-)daily packet of crisps and
replaced it with one for the whole week - likewise chocolate bars. No
change, absolutely none. In fact only yesterday I decided the dome
stuck to my frontal aspect had reached Dec 2004 proportions and had to
be dealt with. I shall have to grimp onto the scales and
check. Obviously reducing sugar in tea/coffee is no longer an option
and I shall have to look for other things to drop - or even resort to
    extra excercise....

    HTH!
