The specs are fine for pretty much any air tool, but how long it lasts
is another matter. Probably fine for DIY use though.

    Got one... nearly had two.

I think everyone who needed one now has one.

Humm, tempting. I don't really have a need for a compressor and a set of
air tools but I do have a certain amount of 'want' for them.

It's not got a lot of puff but works well with the rattle gun Aldi also
sell. The connectors are not exactly compatible with other stuff, but
other than that mine has been excellent.

Bought one a couple of years ago. Fine for pumping up tyres and using a
blow gun for drying bits of bike. I never tried it on a rattle gun. I then
bought a sand blast cabinet and cooked the compressor by using it for too
much time in one go. Excellent value if you stick to the recommended 'no
more than 15 minutes in one go' instruction. I changed the oil and a cyclist
friend is still using it to pump up his tubeless cycle tyres.

Mine came with various accessories - not so with this one. As you have to
buy the tyre pump up thingy and the blow gun: it's possibly worth changing
the connection parts to the more common UK ones. These compressors come with
a Euro fitting - available, but not everywhere.

I killed my cheap one from Screwfix within a year.

Got my money back, and replaced it with a Clarke one from Machine mart
(having been once bitten and twice shy with a cheapie) and never
    looked back.

It's about 4 years old now and still going fine..

The Aldi ones are rebadged Wolf-Air Sioux 2.5hp 9.5cfm compressors.
Wolf-Air are a fairly well known make who mainly produce air products
for the amateur and hobby market. I'd rate them about the same as the
    Clarke ones available from MachineMart

I shall be buying the rattle gun if I get there quick enough. I managed to
liberate a compressor from the Bristol Royal Infirmary so that part of the
kit was cheap enough. It's a Bambi twin cylinder twin receiver jobby that
was used on one of the magic bullet radiotherapy machines which became
    redundant. It's impressively quiet.

I just bought a Euro connector from ebay and fitted that to my compressor,
so all the Aldi/Lidl stuff fits that.

  13. 've got one from their last offer, and it's good, really useful
brilliant, but I don't think it really has enough oomph for a *decent*
    rattle gun.

I bought a rattle gun with mine and it's... sort of "ish".

No, but swapping 'em to PCL from MachineMart for a handful of squid makes
    'em so.

Halfords stock the Euro ones, & Machine Mart certainly used to too.

Because I overkilled on the equipment and wasn't overflowing with air
tools previously, I went the Euroconnector route, buying a couple of
packs from an eBay seller (and scrounging a couple from Loz, who went
the other way (there's a surprise)). This allowed replacement of the
existing connectors and flexibility in connections to suit. They look
like crap, but they work as well, or better, than the traditional types
I've used before: there's no random hissing going on and they make and
break very cleanly, with no pops or bangs.
