    No I agree with Evan.
If they're novices then they don't know whether they're they're gonna' be
    antsy or not.
Give them a feeling of "control" by lying and telling them you're desist the
    INSTANT they tell you.

Theres always the certainty that if you know your pillion well, they *WILL*
let you know when youve screwed the pooch

Like when i copped a right hook for dragging joannes boot chasing gary up
    mack pass......

Dunno mate.. I reckon you could get your own beer out of the fridge and
it'd still be icy cold when you got back from the letterbox :)

Hey Yeebers... your planning on taking the better half(1) for a run
    eh.

This weekend is good for me.. (weather permitting)... im going to try
and talk my better half(1) into coming along too, maybe if she comes
along she could offer yours some pointers as before the accident she
was quite and experience pillion rider.

I'll start working on Kyles into looking after the kids for half a day

  9. My god-daughter was able to put her feet on the pegs and reach the
handlebars of my Blackbird when she was six. I think her dad is going
to need a shotgun and a rocking chair in a few years . . .

  10. Yeah - that was the other one I forgot. I tell 'em I'll tap them on
the knee if I'm about to give it the throttle and therefore hang on.

    My son's 18months and ditto !
There's an electric quad in toys r us that I'm going to get him ( a
    kawasaki(1) - IK will be pleased ! :) designed for 12-36 months -
should get him the hang of powered vehicles and steering. You might
want to have a look - they've also got some cheapy chinese electric
trikes for $50 - no age suggestion but looking at peg to seat to
handlebar dimensions I'd guess 18-24months ish - only downside is it's
a foot accelerator rather than handlebar - so if she's short she might
    not be able to reach.

Hey John .. we got the girls those a cupla years ago. they were cool
until Abi realised that she could go faster using the pedel/push dinky
(now she crosses it up and kicks the back out) - then they got
    relegated to the garage.

was going to ebay them, but the electrics must have got damp as they
both blew up when i plugged the charger into them. was very much fun
    while they lasted though.

these were 80 from target about 2 years ago -

    Cheers

Yeah I don't imagine they'll last too long but it'll get the concepts
across to him - there's a bigger one again he can graduate to when he
    finds that one too slow
Bugger - thought I was about to get a cheap second hand option :)
Hmmm - these ones are $200 in Toys R Us - might have to go down to
Target and see what they've got.

    something.

  16. Along with all the good advice here get the pillion to look over the shoulder
on the same side of the corner you are turning. Turning right look over the
right shoulder. It puts their body on the correct lean angle. I am pretty
lucky because most of my pillions have been chicks 30 kg lighter than me so
they don't make a huge weight difference. So start with someone small to get
    used to it.

  17. One more thing. If you are going down a hill and braking hard brace up on the
bars and be ready for them to slam you in the back.

Did she used to ride horses?

Riding horses gives you spring steel knees. When I was younger (and
closer to my time of riding flighty horses) I could easily pillion
without using my hands to hang on with.
