Better not hang around too long for that MV. Tamburini announced his
retirement today, which probably means he's fallen out with Harley over
    future designs. RIP MV Agusta.

It'll be early next year if I get one.

The only thing that will stop me getting something decent next year
will be dealers offering me a pittance on my 10R in which case I'll
just blow a few grand on suspension and maybe even be stupid and give
it some kind of forced induction.

I think it was TTS at the show, but they had incredibly neat
supercharger kits for not silly money. You don't need any more top end,
how often does one get over 185 on the road, but monster bottom/mid
power is quite an alluring prospect.

Are they still in business? Well done them. They did the gas flowing
work on the bored out Nordwest head. They were experimenting with a
tuned mega thumper at the time; a KLR650 or perhaps even a DR800.
Whichever it was, they were having similar head gasket problems to me
and gave me some useful tips.

Magna do a supercharger for the Zed thou and the V-Max, so I'd bet they do
one for the 10R too. About 3 and half grand the last time I looked.

You'd probably need someone to modify the fairing, but I can't think of
ANYONE who could do that. Unless......

It's about a 1% chance I'll do something like that but if I was to be
that stupid I'd throw the complete bike at TTS and tell them to give
it back when it was ready to ride.

Depends on the power curve but I was kinda assuming his 10R has a
surfeit of it at higher revs by now anyway.
Depends on the installation. 3rd party aftermarket bike turbos have had
a reputation for top end power. Due to plumbing, vane size, wastegates
etc. You *can* of course get a very efficient turbo setup which is great
in the mid range, with the right (small) vane and good header designs,
your 750 has the unit right up close to the barrel IIRC. Your Saab is
computer controlled to provide high boost in the mid range and to tail
    off at high revs.

A Supercharger will always outboost a Turbo at low revs though.

And then there is the Comprex.

I'd want to see an decent spread of power throughout the rev range
with slightly more at the bottom and middle if I had to choose where
    it went.

Let's be honest here, if anyone wants to throw about £8k at an already
high spec bike they want something decent in return or they just buy
    another bike to compliment it.

I might act the idiot but I'm fairly clued up on engines and what I
expect from them so I want something that'll gave me an occasional
slap in the face, the ability to **** off out of sight when a load of
us are already blatting along at 120mph and I don't want the fucking
thing to do a good impression of a motorised hand grenade.

It's odds on that I'll be buying some kind of exotic Italian
motorcycle before the next TOG tour and it's 100% certain that there
won't be any cihagm fest on it.

I don't think any of us who know you would think otherwise
You perfectly describe a Nitrous kit, possibly with a little bit of
engine strengthing in terms of studs and gasket if you want to dump
    loads of gas through it.
    Not even for drunk Frenchies?

Hang on, you were criticizing the CB1300 for being "strangled" the

I feel somewhat like that about our bog standard Jap bike - simply
    'cos it's new.

I have a monster hangover today but you comment rather whooshes me! If
the CB1300 is short on power it will probably be depressed right through
    the rev range?

I've always thought the ideal sports tourer should have a GSXR1000 K2
    engine in it ;o)
