FYI, I won't have a (road legal) car with a towbar after this weekend
for a while. So if you're likely to want the turbo back between then &
whenever I get around to putting a towbar on the new toy[1], you'll
have to find someone else for towing duties. You can of course still
    use my trailer.

If you do want it back this weekend, I can only do Saturday. There's no
rush if you want to leave it here though.

[1] Which could be anywhere from a few days to several months.

Ready to flog me the pickup yet? It must be worth at least two and six now.

Cheeky ****. It's done fewer than 150 miles since you used it, so
whilst it might seem I don't need it, they were miles I couldn't have
done without it[1]. So I need to keep it until I finish this place[2],
but you've got first dibs when I'm done with it.

[1] Mainly collecting half-tonne bags of sand & 2.4/3m lumps of timber
from DIY sheds, which rules trailers out unfortunately.

[2] Or give up & punt it out at auction[3].

[3] Which won't happen as I can't afford to cover the negative equity.

    No I didn't, I bought a car that I'll use for a bit of towing now &
again when I get around to fitting a towbar on it[1]!

Btw L's going to look at the white one tomorrow morning now, partly
because she won't get there before it starts getting dark today, &
partly cos she's got to go to Pitstone in the morning anyway which is
    just down the road.

[1] I try to avoid buying cars with towbars already fitted if possible.

    Erm why, if it's a 4x4.

Why is she looking at it again if you already got one?

Because if it's been used regularly for towing a heavy trailer (e.g. a
horsebox with two large nags in it), the drivetrain & especially the
gearbox will have taken far more of a beating than one that hasn't.
My turn for an 'erm' - because I thought you were thinking of buying it
& wanted the bodywork & interior thoroughly inspected?

There were some crossed wires there. Turns out she /was/ going to have
a look, but didn't bother when I bought t'other one. I thought she said
    she had looked at it.

But even if she had already been, she wouldn't have given it a thorough
going over without specific instructions. Which is kinda proven by the
fact she was going to go tonight when it's getting dark...

If you've got anything specific you want checked, message me on FB (or
message her direct - she's the only L.L. on my friends list).

Cheers, I've pinged her there but basically I just want to know if it looks
clean and undamaged inside and out. Free of dents. And if it looks generally
free of rampaging rust under the bonnet, behind the wheels etc.

If that doesn't come off, I work in Berkhamsted, so Tring's an easy trip.

It's actually out in the sticks halfway between Cheddington & Long
Marston, so not quite as easy (but still not far).

Even just a two bike trailer or a tiny (500 Kgs) folding caravan if it's
    2WD 6 speed Octavia PD140 - allegedly.

I can believe that. Even a couple of 'wet' trailbikes are gonna be
knocking on 350Kgs when you add in the weight of the trailer. Do that
regularly & it has to increase the wear on clutches/autobox bands,
driveshaft bearings, wheel bearings, brakes & rear suspenders. And,
specifically with Outlanders[1], rear suspension bushes, which appear
to be their one & only weak point[2].

[1] The name's giving me a very strong urge to paint mine matte black &
do a few Mad Max style mods.

[2] Apart from a wire breaking off the Tiptronic switch, which is
    easily fixed.

Oh, dear. Forwarded to The Boy, he'll love it.

Krusty's, of course, will end up like something from Torchwood.
