Thanks for the wheels, just transferred them from the back my work
    colleagues car to mine.

Once I've cleaned 'em up I'll rid myself of those foul TRX's (well put
them by to swap back on when I sell the car)

    Cheers

No problems Steve. sorry I didn't clean them up first. I was well rushed
yesterday. The tyres on them are all ok bar one iirc. Anything's better than
    bloody TRX tyres.
Try Kuhmo for an excellent repalcement or even Nankang (no, really!).
They're bloody brilliant, though I don't think you would ever use them on a
    540i.

    cheers,
    JB

    PS: Telford's a hole.

I've been using the Kuhmo's on mine and to be honest they don't feel an
awful lot different from the tyres they replaced (Michelin/Pirelli-
can't remember). I've aquaplaned slightly once or twice in the last 18
months on them and have done about 20k miles- they are still in pretty
good nick. I don't think spending 3 to 4 times the money would have
given me a significantly better drive.

I do drive like an old git though.

I certainly don't! :>) My E34 Tourer does go round corners prety well for an
    barge though.

I had Nankangs on the front of my MkI Golf GTi. Bargains compared to
the Yokohamas they replaced, with similar levels of grip and superior
durability - and as a bonus, a squeal before they let go instead of
the too-subtle Yoko roar. I'd use them again.

    JB fumbled, fiddled and fingered:
    no probs I expected a "patina" :)
My local tyre centre [1] have already quoted me at 49 quid per wheel
fitted and balanced, which I'm very pleased with compared to the 130
quid plus fitting and balancing for the TRX's.

I "may" be able to squeeze a tiny bit more discount once I get there
'cos the normally recognise me as a bike tyre customer and knock a
couple of extra quid off. I'll probably get 4 new ones put on for the
sake of it to be honest.

Don't fret petal, I'm speaking to a bloke tomorrow. I'll drop you a
text/email. I've looked at one (not quite nice enough) and rejected 5 over
    the phone so far.
