We bought Nick's SV today. I'll give it a full service[1] before
letting L loose on it, but are there any SV specific things I should
check, or any favourite mods to make them run better? It's been sat for
18 months if that makes a difference.

[1] Needs brake seals, fork seals & a new chain for certain.

    Who's Nick?

You don't want an SV, they're shite... you want a nice GS500, you do.

I'll cobble an email together while I'm recovering from my impending
surgery. You might want to sign up to www.SV650.org and introduce
yourself in the Idle Banter section. Whatever SV query you may have
there's someone on there with the answer.

I wouldn't want either tbh, but a pre-disastered SV has to be the more
sensible choice than a vgc GS for a newbie, especially at half the
    price.
    Thanks, appreciate it.
    I shall do that.

Maybe it will still be here when she has earned her spurs and gets
tired of riding a disaster zone.
OTOH maybe someone else will have persuaded me to part with it.

At which point she'll buy a Street Triple.

Cheers for that. I'll check for recalls & stuff when I go through the
    mound of paperwork.
