L's got a huge fag burn on her car's back seat thanks to some wanker
who threw his dog-end out of his window & into her's. Any ideas on how
to fix it, or if those repair kits are any good? They're cloth seats.

I'd look at breakers or eBay to find a replacement seat, rather than
    attempting a repair.

While watching too much satellite TV my extensive knowledge of Wheeler
Dealers tells me that cloth seats can be repaired pretty cheaply and to
    a good standard.

I did actually have a faux leather door arm rest repaired when the
wankers repairing the accident damage decided to drag it across the
floor and ruin it - couldn't tell it had been done even knowing where it
    was.

Mebbe if it was something common, but it's a Hyundai Terracan, so the
chances are pretty slim iwht. If it was mine I'd leave it until I was
    gonna sell it.

Thereby ensuring the art of "drawing" [1] (Invisible Mending) is lost.

[1] If I recall the name correctly, but it's what my sister was trained to
    do when she left schoo.

He's right. I used to put a false seam in the same place on both sides
of the rear seat to hide fag burns. Some seat covers are bonded to the
foam though, making this very difficult.

One I did for a secretary who'd borrowed her bosses Merc had quite a
funny outcome. She's borrowed the car while he was on holiday without
permission and had been smoking in it. When she was cleaning out her
mess she noticed the burn mark and rushed around to our workshops where
I unstitched the cover and sewed in two seams to hide the burn. Boss
came back from holiday and the next day came in and thanked her for
getting the ciggie burn in the back seat fixed while he was away, then
asked for the invoice so he could pay her back for it.
